Flow-28 NCF inline power filter
DRAWING ON MORE than 15 years’ experience of its inline filter series, Furutech has recently launched the Flow-28 NCF inline power filter. This consists of a short length of special cable terminated with a Furutech male IEC connector and filtering unit at one end and a Furutech female rhodium-plated, Alpha-treated, FI-28(R) NCF IEC connector at the other.

Mobile phones and computer

Also, low-quality switched-mode
power supplies, such as those often

ALTHOUGH FINE FOR connecting
printers to your PC, computer-grade
USB cables are not really up to the job
for audio applications. They may be
low cost, but using them to connect
your PC to an external DAC can result
in unwanted effects on the data signal
being transmitted. These effects can
manifest themselves as errors in the
digital data stream, which the DAC
in turn has to correct.
Following on from
Furutech’s NCF Clear Line Mains
Optimiser (HFC 478) is this new
version designed to be inserted into
any spare RCA socket on your
equipment (XLR versions are also
available). The optimiser is intended
to combat the noise that can enter
an audio system and find its way
into the signal path. This entirely
passive product contains Furutech’s
NCF (Nano Crystal Formula), which
is a special crystalline material
intended to generate negative ions
to reduce static and also convert
thermal energy into far infrared.
Balanced interconnects
require an additional conductor
within the screened cable, which
is not needed with a standard
unbalanced one. Such a cable is
intended for use with balanced XLR
connectors to accommodate the
standard and inverted audio signals
from the source equipment with
respect to the earth.
Adding to Its range of high-end
connectors, the new top-of-range XLR
plugs – CF-601M male NCF connector
and CF-602F female NCF connector
– employ Furutech’s proprietary
Nano-Crystal Formula (NCF)

material. According to the company,

static charges and also converts

ADDING TO ITS range of cable and
connector holders, Furutech has now
introduced the NCF Booster-Signal-L,
which allows the cradle to be lowered
much further than on other models –
meaning it is able to support
connections usually positioned lower
on components like interconnects and
power leads, HDMI and USB cables.
